Sunderland are monitoring former transfer target Dieumerci Mbokani, on loan at Wolfsburg.

Boss Steve Bruce wants three new strikers and considered Mbokani in January.

Sunderland are currently without centre-forwards with Asamoah Gyan and Danny Welbeck in the treatment room.
