Samuel Eto’o maintains Inter Milan can successfully defend both their domestic and European crowns despite playing catch-up.
Last season’s treble winner’s are currently five points behind city rivals AC Milan and also play guests to German giants Bayern Munich on Wednesday in the Champions League with a 0-1 deficit.
Nevertheless, the Cameroon international is also hoping the recent good run of results of his side goes a long way in the title run-in.
“We are five points from Milan in the League, but with the derby coming up shortly,” Eto’o said.
“It will be an open title race until the last two or three weeks.”
Asked about the second leg against Bayern, he said: “Anything can happen in football. We are behind, but we have every reason to believe in winning in Germany.”
