Striker Obafemi Martins claims his winning goal in Sunday’s Carling Cup final against Arsenal is the ‘easiest ever’ goal scored in his career.
The Nigeria international capitalised on a defensive mishap in the Arsenal rear to slot the ball into an empty net to help Birmingham clinch their first title in over forty years at Wembley.
And he said: “I think this is the easiest goal I’ve ever scored in my career – and it’s very important.
“I’m glad I scored today and I’m glad we won. I think it was my second touch. I’m very happy.
“The gaffer said to me that I would come on in the second half, so I think he did it right.
“It means a lot to the fans and players – we really need this trophy.”
