Christopher Samba is expected to sign a new and improved deal at Blackburn today according to manager Steve Kean.
The revelation follows Rovers defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday in the FA Cup.
The Congolese has been agitating for a move away from Ewood Park ever since the sacking of Sam Allardyce as manager but Kean has reportedly convinced the center half to remain with the club.
“I think what the fans are seeing, certainly in this transfer window and the type of players we are trying to bring in, is that we are moving in the right direction,” Kean said.
“We are trying to resign some of the players coming out of contract. Hopefully we will have Chris Samba tied up tomorrow and he has obviously attracted a lot of interest.”
