Striker Martins inching closer to Karzan exit

Obafemi Martins in action for Rubin

Striker Obafemi Martins is reportedly heading towards the exit door of Russian giants Rubin Karzan with increasing interests from Monaco.

The French outfit are looking for attacking options for Dieumerci Mbokani who has in turn been linked to join Fulham in January and head coach Guy Lacombe supposedly sees the 26-year-old Martins as the perfect replacement.

The Nigeria international joined Rubin Kazan from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2010, but has been unable to secure regular first team action  and could therefore be on his way out again in January.

However, Martins won’t be available on the cheap. His current contract with Rubin runs until the summer of 2013 and they paid a fee in the region of €10 million for the striker earlier this year.
