Faouzi Benzarti has parted company with Tunisian club Esperance after disagreements with club president Hamdi Meddeb.
The duo are reported to have clashed after the “Blood and Gold’s” 2-1 win over JS Kairouan on Sunday and have now appointed Benzarti’s assistant Maher Kanzari as coach.
“Esperance’s committee of directors has just made a change to the technical team of the senior side. Maher Kanzari has been named as coach.
“Meanwhile, the technical director of the youth section, Skander Kasri, has been named as assistant coach,” reads an official club communication posted on the club’s official website.
Relationship between the duo went sour when Esperance suffered a heavy 6-1 aggregate defeat to TP Mazembe in the 2010 Champions League final but its unclear what might have triggered their latest roar.
