NFF opens nominations for Super Eagles post

The Board of the Nigerian Football Federation have announced the opening of advertisement for the job as coach of the national team.

Following an inaugural Executive meeting of the newly elected members, a decision was made to re-open nominations for the Super Eagles job which was vacated by Swedish coach Lars Largerback.

NFF board member, Chris Green who made the announcement said the new NFF executives wish to be transparent and stress on due process and that the substantive coach will be named on October 1.

The new development is in direct contrast of the position of the immediate past board. They had already started negotiations Samson Siasia and were reported to be at a conclusion state with the only hurdle being financial terms.

Former Eagles coach, Shuaibu Amodu, had demanded that the post be advertised to allow for other coaches like Stephen Keshi and Austin Eguavoen to jostle for the job.

Eguavoen is presently in temporary charge of the national team who are in camp in preparation of their Can qualifier against Madagascar on September 5.
