Malawi coach Kinnah Phiri has released a 17 man squad of foreign based players for the Chad game on October 9 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
In the squad, which has six midfielders and strikers respectively, four defenders and one goalkeeper, Phiri has included Black Leopards rejuvenated striker Grant Lungu.
Previously the former Big Bullets striker has been sidelined on disciplinary grounds.
The Flames tactician has also named Peter Wadabwa, who missed the three Flames competitive games due to an injury.
Another player, who has not been called regularly, Jimmy Zakazaka, has now made it into Kinnah’s squad.
However, notable names missing in the squad are Nathi Lions dangerous raider Moses Chavula, who has not been certified fit by his club due to a long tendon injury.
Silver Strikers marksman, Hellings Mwakasungula is also not part of the squad together with South African based Allan Kamanga due to suspensions after both received cards in their last game against Tunisia.
Also missing on the list is Vasco da Gama midfielder, Joseph Kamwendo, who announced his resignation for the Flames before he rescinded his decision.
Speaking to reporters at Chiwembe Technical Centre in Blantyre, Kinnah described this squad as one of the best.
He however was quick to point out that players selected should come to fight for the nation.
“They have to come with the fighting spirit because this is a must win game for us no matter what,” said the coach.
