Eto'o re-establishes poaching talent with CL hat trick

In-form Cameroon striker Eto'o

Samuel Eto’o on Wednesday night reminded football fans of his enormous poaching talent in front of goal by hitting a Champions League hat trick and providing one in Inter Milan’s 4-0 win over Werder Bremen.

The Cameroon captain was Inter’s brightest spot even without strike partner Diego Milito who sat out of the tie through a thigh strain.

Eto’o's first came in the 21st minute after Esteban Cambaisso robbed the ball following a defensive blunder in Werder’s backline to feed the 29 year old who made no mistakes in slotting the ball between the legs of on-rushing goalie Tim Wiesse to give the Nerazurri a deserved lead.

It only took six minutes for the former Barcelona star to strike again -this time, expertly bringing down a long ball from Lucio and cooly placing the ball beyound the reach of helpless Wiesse.

He then turn provider in the 34 minute sending through a defence-splitting pass to Wesley Sneijder who calmy placed his cheeky lob to effectively end the contest in the first half.

Eto’o however would not be denied his hat trick on 81 minutes as he outstripped Werder’s defence to latch onto Sneijder’s through-ball, round Wiese and slot into the empty net.

The win now puts Inter on of the top the group with four points with their in-form striker grabbing his 11th gola in nine matches so far this season.
