Lyon have captured Senegal defender Pape Diakhate on loan for the rest of the season from Dynamo Kyiv.

The 26 year old spent the second half of last season on loan at Saint Etiene and seems to have impressed the Ligue 1 rivals, hence the loan deal.

The center-back joined the Ukaranian giants in 2007 from Nancy but endured a torrid time at the club due to series of injuries and has now decided to revert back to the country where he made his name.

Diakhate has been included in Senegal’s 23 man squad to face DR. Congo in the 2012 CAN qualifier in  Lubumbashi on September 5.
