Mali international Seydou Keta has signed a contract extension at Barcelona tying him to the Catalan gians until 2014.
The 30 year old has two years to run on his existing deal and “has put pen to paper on a two-year extension, giving Keita the possibility to continue at the club until the age of 34 ” a statement read on its website.
Keita was the first signing done by coach Pep Guardiola when he took over the reins at Barca from Seville in 2008 and has since proved his worth with his versitility.
The midfielder has made 93 competitive appearances for Barcelona, scoring 12 goals in that time recieving positive reviews from the manager in the process.
“While I am manager, [Seydou] Keita will stay, because he’s the most generous football I’ve ever known. He deserves everything,” Guardiola said of Keita.
The new deal has had a €100m buy-out clause inserted in the new deal.
