Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has arrived in England to undergo medicals ahead of him imminent move to Sunderland.
The 24 year old has been a long time target for Black Cats manager Steve Bruce who appears to be getting his wish alas in a deal further catalysed by the weekend’s injury to on loan striker Fraizer Campbell.
Gyan on the other hand, did his reputation no harm at all during the 2010 World Cup – where his three goals helped the Black Stars to an historical quarter final finish.
The agile striker who joined Rennes from Udinese in 2008 will sign a four-year contract after passing his medicals in a deal rumoured to be worth £12m before the transfer window shuts at 6pm on Tuesday.
