Uche will have to wait for 6 months before regaining full fitness

Nigeria and Zaragoza striker Ikechukwu Uche is expected to be out for up to six months after undergoing a knee operation, the Spanish club says.

Uche underwent the arthroscopic surgery Thursday on torn ligaments in the same left knee he had previously injured and had forced him to miss most of last season.

Uche missed the World Cup due to the previous injury.

Zaragoza opens the season at Deportivo La Coruna on Aug. 29.
