Ghana's Boateng to open defense in Berlin court

Boateng to wither the storm in court

Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng is scheduled to appear in a Berlin court Wednesday over charges relating to damage caused to 12 cars and a motor scooter.

Boateng is accused of vandalising the vehicles with his former Hertha Berlin teammate Patrick Ebert in March 2009.

The 23-year-old has been ordered by the court to appear although Boateng has yet to confirm that he will make the trip.

Ebert paid a 56,000-euro (72,000 dollars) fine to put an end to the issue several weeks ago when signing a contract extension with Hertha.
