Full time: USA 1-1 Ghana

Dadson failed to get on the score sheet against the Americans

The Black Princesses of Ghana missed a glorious opportunity to notch up Africa’s first win at the ongoing Fifa Under 20 womens championships in Germany after drawing one all with defending champions USA.

The Princesses succumbed to a 70th minute goal from American captain Leroux to draw her team level after a series of sustained pressure at the start of the second half.
Ghana had taking an earlier lead in the first half through Hasaacas Ladies’ midfielder Elizabeth Cudjoe with a thunderbolt in the 7th minute.
Coach james Dadzie’s team seemed to be content with their solitary lead as they withdrew into a defensive mode leaving lone striker Florence Dadson upfront all by herself.
The result means Africa has to wait till the second round of group games to register a win in the tournament following Nigeria’s one all draw game against England.
Ghana plays Korea Republic whiles Nigeria play Japan in the next round of matches to be honoured on the 17th of July.
