Super Eagles should be overhauled - Peterside

Peterside outlines his views on Super Eagles team

Outgoing Super Eagles Media Officer Idah Peterside says only 10 players from the World Cup squad deserve to be part of the team going forward.

Nigeria were eliminated in the first round after finishing with just one point out of nine, and Peterside says the team needs to be overhauled.

“I would like to see the team overhauled and players brought in who will respect the jersey they put on.

“For me, only 10 players from this World Cup team should be brought back,” he said.

Even more drastically, Peterside suggested that Hoffenheim forward Chinedu Obasi should be made the new captain.

“He is smart and coolheaded and it will bring a drastic change to the team.”

Peterside did not stop there, he also advised Sani Lulu to clear out most of the people working at the federation.

“A lot of people have no business there and they should be cleared out.”

Nigeria finished their World Cup campaign without recording even a single victory with their only point coming from a 2-2 draw against South Korea – one that could have propelled them to the second rounf had they won.
