Pienaar was in superb form against Guatemala

Bafana Bafana walloped Guatemala 5-0 in the Fifa World Cup warm-up match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Limpopo on Monday.

It was Bafana’s first ever international victory since the country’s readmission to international football.

The match has special historical significance as it marks the 100th appearance of captain Aaron Mokoena in a Bafana Bafana jersey.

South Africa took the lead via Katlego Mphela’s penalty in the 11th minute. Reneilwe Letsholonyane added Bafana’s second.

Second-half substitute Surprise Moriri scored Bafana’s third. Mphela scored his second of the match and Bafana’s fourth from a spot kick.

Bernard Parker scored Bafana’s fifth.
